NCAA Tourney Game #1: Gonzaga Game Thread

Providence just pulled it out. Great ending. Hall is next. Not giving up but need a solid first few minutes to half.

Keep the faith. In other news, Providence just won it with a last second shot. Let's make it 3-0 for the BE.

Keep the faith! Whitehead is not going to have another nightmare half like he just experienced. No shock we are losing with him shooting as poorly as he has, though he does have a bunch of assists and is not letting the bad shooting impact that part of his game.

Altitude didn't hurt little rock st just an excuse. Williard being out coached is a better one

I think that the altitude is hurting us. Did you see IW sucking on the oxygen bag? They just look out of sorts. They're also looking gassed.

On a message board, it's hardly "whining" or "miserable" to question if the circumstances have put Seton Hall at a competitive disadvantage.

That's also not mutually exclusive with keeping the faith and hoping for a second half comeback. One's heart can hope and wish for a comeback, even if one's head wonders otherwise.

Also - CBS reporters making the same points about timing and altitude.

The problem is we may expend a lot of energy to catch up and the altitude may affect our ability to do so

need to get the train back in track. The offense has to get it going. Defense can't apsave you without some points.

Not making excuses, but starting the game at 11pm eastern time. C'mon. they're dragging.

Sorry but this is bad guys. Trying to stay optimistic is difficult. Great season either way.

Stop making excuses for these guys, willard doesn't have his team prepared for this. Big East Champs playing some embarrassing basketball.

I'm not getting All wrapped up in the altitude. If we saw it had us gassed in the last ten minutes of the game, sure. But we've played what, a good solid 5 minutes at the start of the game

No one complained about altitude when the '89 team swept past Indiana and UNLV in Denver.

The whining on here is unreal. Yes it's a factor, but it's about one of 10 reasons why they are struggling.

We are playing really bad, doubt has to do with time. Maybe altitude, maybe not. Shots just not falling and so many missed FTs

Exactly, should not be gassed 10 minutes in, no matter where playing

Should have had an offensive charge there hitting Gordon.

The problem is if we press fatigue will become an issue.

Keep fighting. Down 12. IW has to forget the jumper. Let Carrington
take the 3's. Get it to 6 with 6.

Yup. UALR was down double digits with ten to play. Providence just won a crazy game.

Just need some of the shots to fall tHe percentages are with isaiah at this point!

And we travelled 2000 miles two days ago to altitude and we start a game at 11pm east coast time. No excuses, just facts.

The most frustrating thing is that I can hardly say Gonzaga deserves to win a first round NCAA game (at least tonight).

A top 32 team would have blown us out of the gym by now.

Whitehead needs to score from within 10 feet. His jump shot is still back on the east coast.

If you don't think inexperience with the tournament doesn't matter, you're kidding. We we're too hyped that first half... They were calm. Now we have a mountain to climb in a game where confidence in your shot is tough ti come by with how we're shooting.
Not an excuse, just right now they are much better than us. And please, don't blame Willard.
