25% of Americans will not take COVID Vaccine

So then you agree that Dem pols don’t have our best interests at heart?

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Just like republicans.
I'm liberal, so while I tend to agree with them more on policy, I'm not a democrat.

@Merge Countdown begins to Labor day today! You will not be posting on this board after that! Biden already has told Americans they will be wearing masks until 2022.

Clearly not what he meant. He was talking about the near future to beat the virus, but not really worth arguing about it.

I don't think you appreciate how quickly things are improving and if they continue on this trend, you don't think democrats will want to take credit for getting us back to normal?

Unfortunately, I have been listening to the experts and the variants will really put a pause to all the progress that has been made.

They were improving in May

What do you mean clearly not what he meant? He clearly said masks will be worn to next year. What other interpretation is there?

Not what he said. “Through the next year” doesn’t mean “through to next year”.

Like I said. Not really worth debating it. He’s been clear about his plan.

Alright. Well we will see who is right in September. One of us will not be posting here after Labor Day, correct?

@Merge

This article shows we need clear herd immunity to clear ourselves from mask wearing. That is why I think you will lose this bet and not be posting on this board after Labor day

Also I am shocked people on this board have not found my citizen of the year award. I even gave my county away (Atlantic)

Were all furiously googling. Also, I am loving motnioring the bet between you and Merge. I'm gonna laugh so hard if a dude in a hazmat suit shows up at Pru.

Thank you. Its simply not that hard to find the article! I have now let everyone know the county!

And you we will be laughing at me. I will be definitely going to all of the games next year in a hazmat suit. Even if I am inoculated. Covid won't be gone next year!

I will continue to follow all of the safety protocols I established for myself and my family. For the last few months I have been wearing a mask in my house 24/7 except when eating or sleeping. That is because my other family members do go out of the house.

I have also stayed at home since March 2020. Hoping maybe to get the all clear this summer to go out. But right now covid rates are just too high to go outside for me right now.

This is why my Mayor explained to me why I won the citizen of the year award too. He let me know I am simply doing everything to protect me and my family from covid.

This time has showed me I have to always take every illness seriously. I will definitely be wearing my hazmat suit in public long after this pandemic is over.

NJ rt rate creeped up .03 today. Something just to keep an eye on the next few days.

As Governor Murphy and Ms Judy stressed today, we have to get below .7 if we don't want another spike in March. Ms Judy said we have to keep our guard up because it looks like a march spike is coming.

That's nonsense. If a March spike is coming, why has the governor loosened the screws just a bit on the restrictions? As long as we're below 1.0, there will be no spike. Basic math.

Ok. I'll just keep stressing what the experts have been telling us for months now. These variants will call for a march spike. If you don't want to listen, fine. Remember, Murphy is in an election year. He also can make stricter restrictions again over the next few weeks.

The "experts" have been wrong more often than not since last year.

You know. Google it. It is so easy to find I can't believe you haven't!

Hello. The CDC has now made the determination the UK variant is deadlier than other variants. They are warning Americans to "Keep up their guard". The CDC is warning governors pulling back their restrictions could cause a new spike. For example, Montana has decided to end their mask mandate.

Sometimes I think you’re the pantalones guy

I have been continuing to warn this board about a covid spike that will begin a couple weeks. For the second straight day rt rate is up again. It was .81 two days ago. Now it's up to .86. As ms Judy said during the presser yesterday, we need to get the the rt down to .7 in order to prevent a March wave. We are just not there yet.

This one guy says over/under for may until murphy pulls back his executive orders.

The times pointed it out in a perfect manner today. The news about US overall numbers looks good. But the news about variants are getting worse and worse.

This is a very sad state of affairs. This twitter poster making a good point kids might not even be back to school 5 says a week throughout the whole Biden Presidency. A very sad state of affairs.

My understanding is that the Health Ministry in Sweden is an independent organization that is not accountable to the Prime Minister and government officials. So in essence, science rules and the government can't over rule their decisions. From the start Sweden took a more "common sense" approach to the disease and to this date, has not recommended or mandated wearing masks in public. And while their deaths/100K is high (but well below the U.S.), most of them have been attributed to nursing homes and the elderly (which they do provide a lot of guidance and recommendations for protection of the elderly).

I'm not arguing against wearing masks, but it's been the over-politicized, one thing that is beaten into everyone, yet the results here are actually worse than a country like Sweden. And now we are being told to double-mask....

Hello I have been telling this board the last couple days the rt is beginning to surge again. Up to .89. It was just .81 a few days ago. This is expected because the experts have been telling us we will have a March surge.

Our kids school just announced they are going back to 5 days a week in March from hybrid 2-3 days per week.
Change happens the first week of March.

Any Rt number below 1 means that the number of current infections is shrinking.
So no.... .81 to .89 does not indicate a surge is coming at all. Also, Rt does not predict future infection. It's more on a lag when you input infection data which tells you how quickly it WAS spreading. The first indication of a new surge will come when there is an increase in the test positivity rate which is currently on a downward trend and is the lowest it has been in 3 months.

I guess you didn't watch the presser the other day. Ms Judy said we need to get to at least .7 to avoid the March surge. It does not appear that will happen.

Ok. Your kids school doesn't speak for the rest of the nation. Does it?

And there was this thing called the Super Bowl two weeks ago. If you didn't think there would be some kind of uptick after that, you are pretty naïve.
