Look at what happened over the summer. After Rt was around .8 in May and June, it hit above 1 in July.
That did not result in an increase in cases.
I think the vaccine was the tool to beat the virus. It appears to be highly effective and we are well on our way to this being over.
There are now less people hospitalized with Covid than any day through all of November, December and January. That’s huge.
Things are improving rapidly, and the people who are most vulnerable are being protected. There will not be a reason to wear masks for risks from Covid by the fall... so, yes I expect to be at that game and I do not expect to be wearing a mask.

As they have always been, deaths are a lagging indicator. Although 1,080 is the lowest number since November.
7 day avg positivity rate is the lowest it has been in 4 months.

A couple other GOP candidates I wouldn't rule out. Larry Hogan and Chris Christie. This is a wild card but I think Tulsi Gabbard changes parties as well and runs as a republican in 2024. Let me know your thoughts.
I suspect the usual suspects in the senate will make a run - Cruz and Paul, probably Rubio again. They'll be joined by Hawley and possibly Tom Cotton.
I think Christie is absolutely getting his ducks in a row to make a run. Don't know enough about Hogan to comment. In 2014 I recall meeting a Morris County Freeholder who knew Christie well and I asked him if he was going to run for president in 2016. He said absolutely and gave me a look that left me with little doubt. The man has been determined to be president for a while now, but I think he missed his time. Should have run in 2012.
Here's a bit of trivia - if Christie were to win the presidency in 2024, we'd have back to back presidents with undergraduate degrees from the University of Delaware and law degrees from Big East (at least at one time) institutions: Syracuse (Biden) and Seton Hall (Christie).

Am I insane to think that the plan the whole time was to make Kamala president? I think President Biden will resign in the next 12-24 months due to the Hunter scandal or old age. Is this too insane to think? I am awaiting thoughts. Thank you!
