25% of Americans will not take COVID Vaccine

Completely out of touch like Nancy

Correct. Nancy and Chuck are too out of touch. I'm interested to know. Do you support Chuck since you said he's not out of touch? Also do you think Kamala will become President at some point. Will you support Pence if he is the Candidate?

Not sure where I even mentioned Chuck. But for the record I find Chuck to be a loser. Plain and simple.

yes I think kamala will be President at some point

i don’t know if I’d support pence because I don’t know who else may run

in February 2021 I’d like Nikki although I like DeSantis, Scott and Christie. What I like means zip though - if the VP Pence is electable I can get behind him but I don’t think he sways the working class first and second generation Americans who reject the Dems current path of socialism

Hello. I didn't know what you mean by "Scott". Can you please clarify? Thank you!

Merge, I have to say - bravo. When this was a bigger issue in 2020 I thought you were one of the panic peddlers. Now I see that you are data driven, reasonable and hope for this to end as most of us do.

I just wanted to err on the side of caution while we allowed the time for science to catch up.
Science has caught up with a couple very effective vaccines and I have become very optimistic since the trends are all improving pretty rapidly.

Unfortunately MAGA crowd has alot of power. It's actually disheartening to see how uneducated alot of people are. It makes me sad for their kids as they dont value education.

I do worry younger generations are either socialist or MAGA. Thanks to MSM and SM if you ask me.

No doubt. It is quite scary. The level of education in our country is quite pathetic. I'm not talking about college education, because college is becoming a brain washing experiment. I'm talking about being educated to do research into topics, not getting your news from facebook and being able to have principles. A good friend always said "if you dont stand for something, you'll fall for anything." I feel like that sums up our political atmosphere.

Hello. I was told again and again on this board the last couple weeks that I am wrong in saying there will be a new surge with the variants. See below. Experts are starting to really worry. One expert was optimistic a couple weeks ago we were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. But unfortunately he does not have that optimistic view anymore. The experts now see a "Perfect Storm"

Thankfully it's behind a pay wall so I can't read it. I don't listen to fearmongering.

Social media is the root cause of most societal problems in the last 10-15 years. We have gone downhill very quickly.

Many people are brainwashed and don't have the capacity to know what is real, what isn't and where to get their news from. Unfortunately mainstream media has also gone downhill as it's too intertwined with social media. Every "news" personality has a twitter account. It's poisonous.

This and it's all driven by $$. MSM and social media make money by dividing. If you're concerned about corporate profits and the downfall of society start there.

"The same result"? You can't compare results when the situations are entirely different.

Would be like saying Seton Hall had the same result if they had the same shooting percentage vs Creighton as they did against St. Johns.

CA's largest City - LA 4 million people which is about 4x larger than Florida's largest city but has half the land area resulting in about 8x the density.

FYI. NJ RT up to .9 today. Ms Judy said today that number has been a "point of interest" over the last couple days after "several days of that rate "going in the right direction".

Fauci just shifted his Vaccine general public availability from April to "Mid-May/June". The good doctor also mentioned we will be mask wearing and distancing "well into the fall/early winter". @Merge Just to remind you. One of us will not be posting on this board after Labor day. By what Fauci and the experts are saying, it looks like I might be staying on.

@HALL85 Weren't you the poster that said the vaccine would be available to the general public by March? Do you still agree with that prediction?

People like Fauci or Osterholm see the risk in front of us if we relax and let our guard down and people see the trends as good news and decide against getting the vaccine. They are cautioning us to still take it seriously for the next few months even as the news will keep getting better and better so the vaccine can be as effective as it needs to be for Covid to go away.

Again, the vaccine looks to be highly effective and doesn't just help prevent the spread but it also helps prevent severe disease. By April, we will have administered at least 140 million shots and should be somewhere around 80 million of the most vulnerable that have been fully vaccinated. By the summer, deaths are going to be down to almost zero.

@Merge Our great president said during his CNN town hall that we will be back to normal "hopefully by next Christmas or first quarter January 2022". Do you agree with the President you voted for? Just to confirm. You are still on the bet for Labor day ? Correct? One of us will no longer be posting on this board after that date.

Again, my views about the virus are based off the data and trends. Not based on what a politician says.

How the president leads is a different conversation.

You're deflecting the bet question. Do you agree one of us will not be posting after Labor Day?

More important than population density is the difference in age disparity which the article points. Both Newsome and DeSantis politicized the virus, terrible job. But I look at Sweden which managed the pandemic with a science based approach that enabled less disruption in their society and economy. Their one mis-step was managing nursing homes which were by far the highest number of fatalities.

Of course. There are quite a lot of factors, but we can’t judge the actions of one state and compare them to another state with very different circumstances. Sweden has an extremely low population density, so their response would of course be much different then very densely populated areas.

It’s not like if California and Florida apply the same procedures that they end up with the same deaths per capital. They have to respond to the situation on front of them.

Not really. 87% of Sweden’s population is in urban areas and I remember seeing like 40-50% of the Stockholm workforce commutes by subway.

Actually like that Sweden operates its Health Ministry as an independent agency that the government cannot overrule.

Disagree on DeSantis, he's done a great job.

The goalpost keeps moving. Fauci said yesterday vaccines will be available to the general public in mid-May/June. However the President said today it might be not to August now. Who should we listen to?

He said everyone will be able to get one by the end of July... not that we would be just opening up to the general public at that point. It's a pretty reasonable estimate.

I was commenting that they politicized the pandemic and their actions. DeSantis did a much better job protecting nursing home patients.

Hi everyone. I talked to my Mayor tonight. He let me know from conversations that he thinks the mask requirements will probably go on to fall 2022. He unfortunately thinks fans will be wearing masks the full season next year at the prudential center. This is from insider information. It appears we know who will not be posting on this board after Labor day 2021.

@Merge See some quotes from doctors in this article. One doctor mentioned we will still be fighting the virus for a year plus. He also does not expect sporting events to be at full capacity until 2024. I think I would take a doctor's word. It looks like we know who will not be posting on this page after Labor day!
