But then SHU fans would complain about having too many other things to do on a Saturday afternoon.

We struggle to get 6k fans for a top 25 game at the rock (see butler game), I'm very pessimistic on a good hall showing at msg for a regular season game - especially if the game is played anytime other than Saturday afternoon.
Count me as one who loves them also. MSG is the best venue for bball IMOI know I'm in the minority, but I like the MSG games.
Just looked it up and they were announced on May 3rd last year, so we'll know soon. When do they announce the big ten/big east games?
A few A10 teams every couple of years is nothing to write home about. Throw in USF even if it was a favor was not good. WSU and Georgia were good. But now WSU does not even need us any longer. Not defending the schedule, because there's some truth in what you said, but Dayton was a decent team when they played them. You also can't exclude George Washington, Wichita State and Georgia.
The real issue is playing too many 250 to 351 teams over 100 to 200 teams. That's what would make it more interesting.
A top 5 team doesn't "need" to do anything. You can play by their rules, or not play them at all. Take your pick.VCU is a nice home game. We still need another 'marquee' home game for this season. I've heard rumblings about this 'top 5 team' playing a home and home with us next season but they need to play us at the Rock and not the Garden.

If SHU does it that ay, then I hope it truly is treated like a home game and not an add-on neutral game like the UA double-header. Include the game in the season ticket package and do something special, like a discount on getting season ticket holders there and back (especially if the game doesn't end until after 11 p.m. like the South Carolina game and NJ Transit trains are scarce).Do we need to play a "home game" at MSG...no. Are there benefits to doing it...yes.
