Nikki Haley exclusive to WSJ

Joe Biden is who the people voted for. That’s democracy. Now a special group of elites are going to overrule the vote of the people and pick someone no one voted for because they will lose power??? That doesn’t sound like people fighting to save democracy. That sounds like people fighting to save their role in power instead of following the will of the people.

Great point. That same group co-opted the debate from the commission to create their own rules and ice out RFK.

If he steps down as he rightly should, that is democracy. This is not some elite bunch of people picking. At primaries, people vote for the electors who will pledge to a certain candidate. Without that candidate, those electors will pick the next candidate.

This is not unprecedented. It happened in 1968 oddly enough in Chicago where the Democratic Convention is being held this year. LBJ stepped down in March and Robert Kennedy was killed in June. At the convention Hubert Humphrey was picked.

find it a little different when 5 days ago the Democratic Party and the liberal media were 100% behind Biden. Now after a debate and showing the world he can’t do it, the switch flipped. On top of that Biden is out there campaigning on what a good job he did. Stepping down? Not a chance. Being forced out is more like it.
