Agree with this as well.Adding to this: Sha also deserves a longer leash than usual in this situation. The reason being that he is the only coach who could potentially stay at SHU for the duration of his career. Anyone else SHU could hire would only view the job as a stepping stone for something bigger and would bail after the first good season.
Sha has been bad this season, real bad. His moneyball approach to the roster failed and this team has not made any identifiable progress as a whole throughout the season. He deserves plenty of criticism but it would be foolish to replace him before his contract is up.
I see Toole is on Jerry’s podcast in honor of a Horizon League title—finally adjusted to moving up to tougher competition. Certainly worth a look now.OK, I’ll throw some suggestions out
Grant B and Donald Copeland, for obvious reasons. Let’s not forget Level Sanders, too.
Don’t think NBA coaches without college experience work well, but I’ll also toss out Mark Bryant and Adrian Griffin for sake of discussion.
Could go back to Iona pipeline with Tobin Anderson.
Jersey Guy Andy Toole has struggled since Robert Morris changed conferences but perhaps worth a look.
Please stop.I see Toole is on Jerry’s podcast in honor of a Horizon League title—finally adjusted to moving up to tougher competition. Certainly worth a look now.
Yeah, I think either him or Pat Kennedy would be great. What about Lou Campanelli?
And, on top of that, he has to read the inane nonsense spewed on this Board.
@MichiganStoleTitle is already doing the legwork. Hopefully our next AD is paying attention. If replacing Sha takes place we can’t think narrowly and just come up with a list of candidates that have a connection to Seton Hall but think out side the box and have a true national search..
Pretty sure I’ve conducted more exhaustive search in this thread than our admin did before it handed job to Sha.@MichiganStoleTitle is already doing the legwork. Hopefully our next AD is paying attention.
Sha was perhaps the easiest no brainer selection in college basketball that year. This board would have exploded if we went and hired a different coach when Willard left. Sha was a pretty hot commodity after his Elite 8 run.Pretty sure I’ve conducted more exhaustive search in this thread than our admin did before it handed job to Sha.
You’re right. It would have. But after 3 years and no tournaments to show for it, the clock is ticking. This is why the “smart” people responsible for making decisions are supposed to look at all of their options. Not just the shiny new toy 15 miles away that shocked the nation with an epic run. Fans are emotional. The administration is supposed to remain neutral during the hiring process. A few people here pointed out that Sha had some glaring flaws at St. Peter’s. Those flaws are now major flaws amplified by playing with the big boys. Sha and everyone else above him has officially messed this up. Enough with his rah-rah quotes. There were dissenting voices. The choice was an easy one. To suggest it wasn't an easy choice at the time off this season is classic emotional FandomYou’re right. It would have. Exactly what I said— fans are emotional. There were dissenting voices. The choice was an easy one. To suggest it wasn't an easy choice at the time off this season is classic emotional Fandom
If that's legwork then the legs are broken and in casts.@MichiganStoleTitle is already doing the legwork. Hopefully our next AD is paying attention.

From your lips to God’s ears—we can only hope someone takes him off our hands.I've said many times, I'm glad he is here. Initially thought the 200+ phone calls to TT's mother might be more of a factor.
If he is as fantastic a coach as many believe, he will have offers in the off-season. Big programs might think they can get him cheap(er).
Between his public treatment of players and development of a losing culture, not sure an increase in funds can even fix this problem. The only solution to this problem is Sha taking a long look in the mirror and choosing to adapt. If he’s not willing to do that, he won’t be here for long. Hopefully he actually learned something this year.I've said many times, I'm glad he is here. Initially thought the 200+ phone calls to TT's mother might be more of a factor.

My biggest misjudgment was thinking kids would rush to the Hall to play for him after the St. Peter's run and hype. I realize NIL was just rearing its ugly head, but I was nervous about all the dropped-pucks at Devils' games and first pitches at Citi Field or Yankee Stadium amid no major signings. This is when the "Trust in Sha" refrain began. In retrospect, there was no rush to play for Coach Holloway.
Preach! Only question is when does his magical Elite Eight run lose its steam with the media and they start to turn on him? Every time you turn a game on, they’re pumping this guy up. Eventually that narrative has to change, right? From your lips to God’s ears—we can only hope someone takes him off our hands.

He inherited a good situation. I personally think he needs one more year there before a high major takes a favor- but all of that will be wiped clean if he gets a spot in the danceSkinn is going to get a good job this offseason, assuming he wants one. He's done really well there.
I would love to be wrong.Maybe they're right and you and others are wrong?
As I understand it, he has at least three years and $7.5 million left on his contract.I've said many times, I'm glad he is here. Initially thought the 200+ phone calls to TT's mother might be more of a factor.

But it isn’t right or wrong. If anyone is hoping he fails and is therefore deemed “right”, they don’t belong on this board. So, barring something unforeseen it should be two more years. One somewhat successful year could add an additional year. I suspect this debate will continue, but one side will emerge as the victors.
I remain of the impression that Sha thinks HE is the program. I do not go to the Games to watch Sha and his silly histrionics. He holds himself apart from the Team --His ?Coaches?-- the Fans. His excuses --which are becoming legendary - usually rely on how the Players are responsible --reminding everyone that he has not forgotten how to Coach.Preach!
