As the GOP likes to call themselves the party of family values, the hypocrisy of this situation is unbearable. That Washington Post article was well researched and the details of the story and the corroborating circumstances certainly made any reader believe that his accusers were telling the truth. Yet, you still have GOP members backing this garbage can. The latest accuser in which she said Moore forcefully tried to have sex with her even has her yearbook signed by Moore.

This holier than thou man is the epitome of hypocrisy. Bashes gays in the name of religion, Grandstands with the monument of the 10 commandments in court. Yet, he sexually assaults young girls. This is what happens when the Republicans sold their soul to Trump. Anything goes. As one Alabama politician said, rather vote for a pedophile than a democrat.

This guy has to drop out of the race. No exceptions. Amazing that he even won the primary, he has said (and apparently done) some disturbing things.

Very interesting to see what happens here. Has there ever been someone taken out of an election or out of office for an event from 40 years ago? The guy could be a terrible guy in his personal life, but can he do the job? Nobody ever asks for a personal history of a doctor about to remove a tumor. You want the best guy to do the job in that situation regardless of what his private life has been.

Sorry, this is just stirring the pot and deflecting. Moore has no business being a US Senator.

The best guy to do the job and (choose one), creepy chaser of young girls, sexual attacker, pedophile? Interesting choice.

This guy has no business being a senator. How come none of this ever came out when he ran for governor or during his long term as a state supreme court judge?

And the hypocrisy is stunning. Democraps all believe his accusers yet Clinton was wrongly accused. How shameful.

Out with all of them.

Did he have any business 3 weeks ago being a US Senator. We allowed Hillary to run for President because people believe she was qualified not because she was considered clean. She never had to answer to this mysterious link from her past.

http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2016/0...ociates-whove-died-mysteriously-check-it-out/

He was never qualified to be Senator. He was removed from his judicial seat and has no regard for the rule of law in this country. He is the epitome of what is wrong with the country. With all this, he will probably still win the election. Roll Tide.

So, I'm not sure if you have noticed but there is a change in the air. That change is that victims of sexual harassment are being empowered by other victims coming out. I don't think you should just brush off that it might be very difficult for a person to come out and talk about this stuff "why now" is so significantly less important.

I haven't seen it debunked anywhere.

Not even in the link I posted? Did you read it?

Just read the Mahoney one.
"Mike Isikoff of Newsweek just before the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke that a “former White House staffer” with the initial “M” was about to talk about her affair with Clinton. We all know now, of course, that the “staffer” referred to was Monica Lewinsky, not Mary Mahoney. The conspiracy buffs maintained that White House hit men rushed out, willy-nilly, and gunned down the first female ex-intern they could find whose name began with “M.”

There is a Bush hit list out there too.

It's all BS conspiracy nonsense.

And how do you know for a fact that this stuff against Moore is not conspiracy nonsense? I want to find out the truth either way.

Okay, you are way off the deep end.
Because I don't accept what CNN says as fact? Because I think it's reasonable to question accusers of 40 years ago?
I love that you had nothing factual to say about it. When you can't throw around facts, throw insults. Very mature.

I'm not brushing it off, he's scum, Clinton is scum, Weinstein is scum, Takei is scum, Spacey is scum, et al.

If it wasn't for the disgusting democraps brushing off Clinton, maybe the change would have come about much sooner?

We can go back in time as far as we want and we would likely see a significant number of democrats, republicans and many of our childhood "hero's" who would end up on the wrong side of this discussion. This isn't a conservative vs democrat issue. This is a cultural issue that needs to be addressed and people who have been abused should be encouraged to step forward.

When is the right time to address this? Now.
Why are people coming out now as opposed to 40 years ago? Who cares.

If you want to wait and see on Moore, fine. I won't argue with you.

If you want to wait and see on the Clinton Body count then there is nothing I can do for you. It was all made up nonsense and has proven to be as much.
If there was a shred of evidence that the Clintons had murdered people, don't you think republicans who spend millions of dollars on opposition research against them would have uncovered something?

I care because I can't remember what I had for dinner a week ago let alone prove where I was 10 years ago on November 14, 2007 or 20 years ago on November 14, 1997. If somebody accused you of doing something on either of those days, how would you go about proving it. It's merely impossible to get people to remember being with you on those exact days.

People don't come out right away because they are afraid to. Maybe they fear their reputation, maybe they fear jeopardizing their careers/ relationships etc... Whatever their reasons are are their own. In Moore's case you have multiple people confirming that Moore was viewed as preying on high school girls.

This isn't reconciling that someone didn't know what they had for dinner 40 years ago, it is multiple women speaking out for the first time against a man with multiple corroborating witnesses and multiple people confirming that he had a reputation for going after high school girls. I am not sure how much more you need.

There is not going to be a trial. This is beyond the statute of limitations. Did you actually read the newspaper story in the Washington Post? The details are backed up and corroborated. I'm sorry I gave you credit for actually reading the story. For example, the 14 yr old was outside a courtroom when Moore approached her mother to say go inside the courtroom and he would watch the daughter. How in the world 40 years later that the girl would know that Ray Moore's office was on the same floor of that courtroom? The facts are in the story. I am sure you were probably all over how disgusting Weiner's sexting was. And that is true it was disgusting. However, here you have a man forcing himself on teenagers which is absolutely mind blowing and way worse than Weiner.

Moreover, even before this, if you thought this guy was qualified to be a US Senator, that would explain a lot by your stance.

Read the Washington Post. LOL Maybe I'll read the Scarlet Ledger to find out all things Seton Hall basketball next. LOL

I agree with this but this doesn't let the hypocrites of all stripes off.

Yeah, @chelseahandler I can imagine. I was raped by the Arkansas AG who then becomes Governor & President and NBC held my interview explaining the rape until after his impeachment hearing. But I'm sure you don't want to go there.

Imagine being molested by an older man. Then that man denies ever doing it and then goes on and gets elected to United States senate. What kind of message does that send to young girls everywhere? And men to all the men who abuse women?

Don't forget to have Hannity on the hypocrite douche list as well. Moore shoud be given the benefit of the doubt? By you, who never rightfully gave Clinton any benefit of the doubt but this cretin deserves it?? Truly gross.

Because it's all about ratings. They cover it from the angle they are paid to cover it. When they established freedom of the press, I wonder if they ever thought it would come to this where journalists are not independent. Where the force of the almighty dollar determines how something gets covered. Just like when they created the second amendment they probably didn't foresee someone being about to shoot round after round within minutes.

My memory isn't that great, but I can still remember what I was doing any day of my life as far back as you like: Not molesting children.

I think journalist independence is exactly why we have an amendment for freedom of the press. The point wasn't that journalists should be independent; it was that multiple points of view were allowed to flourish.

It is a great privilege to be able to say with pride that you would never read the Washington Post. Many countries don't have the options we have.

All I'm saying its disgusting how both sides can take 1 story and twist it to their liking. That's not what the press is about. #Fakenews is real and it's real on both sides.

Then why does Juanita Broddrick's shouting into the wilderness get brushed off by the media and the holier-than-thou Democrats?'

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see SPK's almost identical post.

That said, the change in the air is a good thing, and Moore should clearly step down, but that is typical for sick, lying, weasels -- they're going to lie and swear to it until the mountain of evidence finally crushes them.

I am not sure I understand. Sticking with Roy Moore, the story is out there. His options

1. Resign
2. Fight

Everyone has an opinion. A number of people on this thread believe Moore should resign or be removed. Others, including you, think the allegations are old, maliciously timed and/or the allegations are not relevant since Moore is the best man for the job regardless of his personal life.

The job of the media is to make sure both points of view are represented. Thank God they are out there doing their job. To call an opinion you disagree with twisted or #fakenews is a misreading of how a free and independent press works.

Well thankfully a few liberals have started to recognize that inconsistency.

It is slightly different since the allegations were investigated by Kenneth Starr almost 30 years ago, so the public established their opinion on the matter... but it is definitely worth an additional closer look.

We are obviously all better if we have diversity of opinion. I think the issue with the MSM ismore to do with misrepresenting facts or leaving facts out in the presentation of a story to provide a particular slant.
