Politics is all about power and power goes to peoples head. There are ugly people on both sides. They're going to be able to find something on everyone if they look into their past. I can't imagine any of our elected officals not taking a liberty or 2 (not always sexual) when given the power. What we have in Washington is a swamp. We can decide from this moment forward, we're moving forward, 1 screw up and we're throwing people out or we can look spend our time looking into everyones past and figure out why they shouldn't be in office instead of moving this country forward.
Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Michelle Bachmann, et al all kind of prove to be equally disappointing and insane, no?
Moore is a scumbag and there should be no hesitation at all - he should be dropped immediately.
But once I hear anyone saying it's only one party I pretty much immediately discount that person because you know what - the crap is on all sides. Moore = scum and should not hold any office. But there is plenty of scum to go around and if you read the Occupy Repubs or Occupy Dem and repeat it you are just as bad. Anyone who agrees with all the bullsh*t each party talks about is just not a thinking American in my opinion...
I always say the biggest problem with America is that the two places that run the country (Hollywood and Washington DC) have people that think the least like most Americans I know.

I don't 100% agree with either of these women but I like Tulsi Gabbard and Nikki Haley. Those two would get my consideration for two women in politics that could potentially make a positive difference. One is a Dem and one is Repub.
Moore may be a scumbag, but there a lot of scumbags in Washington. They treat people like crap. They leave Washington much wealthier than they showed up. Most of them are there for their own gain.

Maybe in 20-25 years the republicans will take a page out of the democrats playbook and say you know we shouldn’t have supported that Moore guy.
Or just say the right thing now like many republicans already have and like many democrats did in 1998. Lieberman having the harshest words for Clinton and providing a “moral compass” for the party is probably what gave him the edge to earn the VP spot on the ticket with Gore.

How many would be left in DC if we really valued character and lawfullness? Not many and that’s bipartisan.
I have not defended Clinton. I’m just adding the relevant context of his election. Broaddrick did not claim he raped her until the end of his term... and in my opinion she is credible.
I agree not many would be left but I am happy the time has come to stop accepting this as normal behavior at any level in any industry or public sector. Let’s start to weed them out now, and not support people like Moore.

Conyers, most likely. Franken I am siding with giving him the benefit of the doubt as new details have come out.
Roger stone tweeting about it before she came out is a red flag for me.
Franken didn’t write the script just to make out with her as Tweeden claimed. It was the same skit they had been performing for years before she was there.
The picture, while tasteless, clearly was not someone molesting her. It was a bad joke from a comedian and his hands were not touging her.
There are pictures and videos of her on the tour doing exactly what she claimed Franken of doing.
She signed a book deal with Sinclair right after coming out against Franken.
What makes Broaddrick more credible is that she was not paid for her story. The tweeden claims seem more like a pay day right now.
Not saying franken is innocent, he asked for an ethics investigation and I agree there should be one.
You're giving Franken too many benefits. He groped her in that photo. If he wasn't touching her he would have denied it. Regardless, Conyers appears to be much worse since there was a pay-off and other women have come forward. The whole Moore thing smells on multiple levels. How does a DA get banned from a mall? All three strike me as people in power that take advantage of it and cross the line.
I may be giving him too much credit, but I do not agree he was groping her. There was clearly space between them. It was a dumb joke though I do understand her comments that it was humiliating for her.

What a waste of tax payer money. We have a special committee for every damn thing. No wonder our national debt is what it is.
Exactly, and what's worse is that nothing will happen because the Congressional Ethics Committee is a partisan joke that will not hold their members accountable. Nothing will happen to Franken or Conyers, and if Moore is elected, they won't do anything about him either. More money and no action....another example of the swamp.
On another note, the whole situation with Charlie Rose was no surprise to those at CBS. While I will give Gail King and Nora O'Donnell credit for the way they confronted the story yesterday, this was absolutely no surprise to them. The shock and awe act was just that, and act. In fact, my daughters boyfriend (of all people) told me on Saturday that the story on Rose was going to drop on Monday. (of course I didn't take him seriously) Rose, Notorious for making women sit on his lap in the CBS studio. And considering he was fired six hours after he was suspended pretty obvious they had done a thorough review of his employment contract. They all knew what was going down last week and they all knew of his behavior well before the story was written. That wouldn't make for good TV though.
Haven't been paying much attention to Moore/Jones polling but noticed this morning there is a wide disparity on how pollsters see it.....some 20 points apart which is insane. If Moore wins, do Reps follow suit to what Dems did with Franken? Politics at its best.....or worst.
Trump has made robocalls for Moore and the Republican Party now supports him with money. The Republican party has lost all of its moorings. They are now looking up to the gutter with the support of Moore. His values of wanting to get rid of the Amendments past 10, that the best time in America was when families were together and sure there was slavery during that time, homosexuality is an abomination and of course his being banned from a mall because he was and is a creep. Oh yea, he sexually molested a 14 year old girl.
This is the kind of a man that Trump and the Republican Party supports.

Democrats and Republicans have been saying that about each other for 100 years. I'm not sure what makes this case true, but both parties can still go lower believe it or not. And we'll be using that phrase in 2 years and 22 years all over again.
I actually read that a lot of republicans want Jones to win. He's an easy candidate to beat with someone other than Moore in a couple years.
This is beyond politics. There have been politicians who have put aside party and did the right thing for the country from Alexander Hamilton to Barry Goldwater to the Republican Party in Louisiana that votes and came out against David Duke. We now have a President and the national party supporting this lunatic. There are a few republicans who have come out against Moore but far too few.
Moore is toxic. If he wins, he will not make it a month before he is forced out.
This election is Generic R vs. Jones.
I am not sure I see it that way. Moore is on trial right now. If he wins the Senate will not override the will of the Alabama people who heard the evidence and still voted him into office.
Every dem in every district will use Roy Moore in their campaign ads in 2018.
Republicans will wash not want to run against Moore nationally. Might be ok in very red Alabama it will hurt republicans in almost ever other part of the country.
We will know tomorrow if it is ok in very red Alabama but should Moore be elected this will have little impact in other parts of the country. Blue states already think poorly of Alabama and other red states will feel good about themselves thinking "well we're better than Alabama"
