I read this about 2 years ago. It is a mindset gamechanger for many people. Bigger Pockets site has generated many disciples of his. Real Estate is key.

Yes, people live above their means. If I can give one bit of advice to a late teen/early 20-something… NEVER PAY CREDIT CARD INTEREST.

I am 47 years old and never in my life spent one cent on credit card interest. Every card is on “pay in full on due date”.

I made great money at BlackRock. There were times when I wanted to do something like finish my basement, do a pool - some significant cash outlay. I always leaned toward putting excess into savings/investing over stretching to do something I didn’t need. When I was laid off, I went 18 months “finding myself” without significant financial stress. From 2 incomes no kids to 2 kids no incomes for 18 months WITHOUT falling into debt.

People without a pot to piss in have to have the $1300 smartphone, the expensive car, a nice designer bag or new golf clubs. Those are not needs.

Basic financial management and prudent spending is a lost art.
