I believe an announcement is coming today so I will do this today and list the teams tomorrow

1. Hurley
Tough to see it any other way

1A. Holloway
But if it happens then look here

3. McDermott
Injury to Kolek vaults Big Mac

4. Smart
As with Hurley and Holloway, could go either way with McDermott

5. Pitino
Late drive has him here

6. English
Losing Hopkins cost him a special season

7. Matta
Same amount of conference wins as Miller is impressive

8. Miller
Injuries wrecked season in November

9. Neptune
In some years he would be at the bottom

10. Cooley
Two wins over DePaul by 4 points? Brutal

11. Stubblefield/Brady
Better nail the next hire as this program is an absolute embarrassment

Dan, you have two Neptune's...maybe one was Uranus?? lol

The only guy I would give more credit to is Matta and bump him up to #5.

Yeah, I corrected that almost imm as I first pasted from last week and then changed the order.

1. Hurley - no question about it to me.
2. Holloway - would win it any other year if not for what Danny did.
3. Smart - backed up a great year with a good one, showed well w/o Kolek.
4. McDermott - Some struggles early but good coach whose team is right where it should be.
5. Matta - leveled out in the middle of the pack, but did a nice job revamping the roster and competing.
6. English - kept PC competitive after losing Hopkins but overall trend is down over last month.
7. Pitino - late season run vs. easy schedule has disguised a very mediocre job this year.
8. Neptune - holding it together for now. Not as bad as some say, but certainly not a good job this year.
9. Miller - thought he'd do a better job even w/ injuries. Team might be checked out (is he too?).
10. Cooley - not competitive at all in his first season, would be dead last if not for...
11. Stubblefield - complete failure on all levels.

Personally, the reason I have McDermott slightly over Smart is because Smart was picked 1st in the preseason and McDermott 2nd.

Creighton ended up 2nd, Marquette 3rd.

I get the Hurley hype but the award should go to the guy who did the best coaching job and I believe it should be measured by results vs expected results.

UConn

NCAA: Preseason #10 currently #2
Big East: Preseason #3 currently #1
(If you're picked 3rd and finish 1st it’s really not that much of a surprise)

SHU

NCAA: Preseason #70ish. Currently #40s (not NET)
BE: Preseason #9. Current #4
( if you're picked 9th and finish 4th that’s a surprise)

Maybe I’m a homer, but I believe it goes to Sha

To me the biggest takeaway (besides Sha's performance) when looking at preseason predictions, projections and the like is the contrast between Pitino and Cooley. Two coaches taking over down programs. Complete rebuilds/new rosters. Very different seasons.

Since it’s a coaches vote I’d bet Sha has a very good chance. You can respect Danny. Not sure you can like him. This year they have a very plausible alternative in Sha

You were made to make a bet in the preseason.

Either SHU is gonna make the tourney

or

At season's end, Uconn is going to be one of the favorites to win the NC

I wonder where the money would have gone.

I like Danny BTW. I have become a Uconn fan. I always respected the Calhoun Uconn teams but I was too jeolous of them to be a fan,.

That is certainly how PJ won his first COY in 87-88. Neither Calhoun, Boeheim, Rollie, Thompson, and Louie were going to vote for each other.
