DePaul especially bad.Seeing other teams move up anywhere from 6 to 10 spots after blowout wins, and then we only move up 2 spots... whatever... just happy we locked up a bid to the dance
Agree Dan, amazing how some people on this board are still so caught up on metrics. It has been clear for well over a month that SHU will be an outlier in NET rankings.Isn't it amazing that during and now after last night we are focusing on computer generating metrics. When the only number that should be important is
13-7
Seriously, when you play a net 300 team, the hope is to not fall places.DePaul especially bad.
And he had 9 assists last night and several were highlight stuff. Here’s another stat:
What’s also odd and under the radar is Dawes has gone 3 consecutive games without scoring 10 points despite 5/11 from 3. Teams trying to take him away and really make us one dimensional.
First time since he’s been at SHU.
They moved from 99-91. They didn’t move up in quad but prevented falling back into lower one with a lossDid USC move up a quad for us after last night?
Lucky we didn’t drop. From 63. The rout was worth 2 spots. Other factors too
Yet we shot 50% and made 12 3’s. Kadary has to keep shooting the occasional 3 to keep them honest. If the continue to going under screens he needs to made them pay. Here’s another stat:

That doesn't matter either.Isn't it amazing that during and now after last night we are focusing on computer generating metrics. When the only number that should be important is

Not just 13-7, but 13-7 where they played every team in the league twice. Interested if the committee accounts for thatIsn't it amazing that during and now after last night we are focusing on computer generating metrics. When the only number that should be important is

yea "who you beat" is the only thing that matters. not the total record either (look at mid majors). but if you go 13-7 in a major conference it means youre decent. That doesn't matter either.
The number that matters is 20-11. The 13-7 is already baked into 20-11
The Selection Committee is less focused on conference record (not saying they ignore but it's not the major factor people believe) than they are overall record.
Who you beat and where you beat them are the biggest drivers.
So what? Every team in the BE won two games from DePaul. Then in other major conferences there are the Louisvilles and Michigans. Not quite as bad as DePaul but definitely awful. Every good team cleans up on those teams. We had 3 games against teams that went winless in conference play. Doesn’t help the cause
DePaul x2
Mizzou (0-19) in the SEC
Yes, there are bad teams in every conference but Georgetown and DePaul are a special brand of resume killer. There are seven P6 teams with NET rankings above 150So what? The non con profile for us is so bad it’s underrated around here, lol. I still cannot that team went 13-7 in the BE knocking off 2 of the best teams and nearly doing it to the 3rd.Take this a step further.
We played home-and-home with Georgetown and DePaul (a combined 12-50) two of the four worst P6 teams by NET ranking.
We played Missouri (8-23 and 0-18 in the SEC) -- one of seven P6 programs with a NET ranking above 150. Still, this was our best OOC win.
We lost to Rutgers (15-16) at home. They tied for 12th in the Big 10 at 7-13 in conference play ahead of only Michigan.
We lost to Southern California (14-17) at a neutral site. They tied for ninth in the Pac-12 at 8-12 with only Oregon State behind them.
It's a miracle we're in as strong a position as we are. The Georgetown and DePaul games are in buy-game territory given that Monmouth, the seventh-ranked CAA team by NET, is ranked 18 spots above Georgetown.
The BE was bi-polar this year. You have three top-10 teams (1, 8, 10) and two teams that were dreadful 2-38 combined. In between that block of teams (from 4 to 9) beat those top-10 teams seven times (SHU had 2 of those wins). We had 3 games against teams that went winless in conference play. Doesn’t help the cause

Mizzou (0-19) in the SEC
And came very close to winning all of their BE home games.SH beat every team in the conference except Creighton which was a stolen triple overtime loss; very impressive!
Then maybe Sha did earn COY as it's difficult to argue where we were in Dec before the conference season began. The non con profile for us is so bad it’s underrated around here, lol. I still cannot that team went 13-7 in the BE knocking off 2 of the best teams and nearly doing it to the 3rd.
I wouldn’t have a problem if he did win it. I think Danny should but wouldn’t object to Sha edging him out. Then maybe Sha did earn COY as it's difficult to argue where we were in Dec before the conference season began.
I can’t believe any one would have an issue with it. What Sha did was tremendous and they know it.Then maybe Sha did earn COY as it's difficult to argue where we were in Dec before the conference season began.
yeah well that Jerry Palm seems 2 be obsessed with computers with our last 4 in nonsenseIsn't it amazing that during and now after last night we are focusing on computer generating metrics. When the only number that should be important is

Providence may well also be the only P6 bubble team with more Q4 wins than we have.I can’t believe how some guys just focus on the negative side of the ledger. Check out other P6 teams that are on the bubble. The only other P6 bubble team with 5 Q1 wins is… Providence.
Of course. But we have overcome the negatives to get to the right side of the bubble. Just saying to compare other bubble teams resume to ours. SHU is better. Sure something crazy can still happen but for bubble teams, we’re in good shape.Providence may well also be the only P6 bubble team with more Q4 wins than we have.
You can call it negativity but many here also refuse to consider any of the downsides of our resume.
Our negatives are WHY we are still on the bubble. It has taken all of the good we've done since the start of BE play to cancel out the hole we dug in the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Semi related but I’m guessing the computers gave Cincinnati a bump in NET after their “efficient” 20 point drubbing of Kansas. Hopefully the humans know it was a very depleted Jayhawks team.Dropped slots to #64 without even playing as things continue to shift around us.
Win today. Would be another Q1 road win.
Yep. 43 to 34. 9!Semi related but I’m guessing the computers gave Cincinnati a bump in NET after their “efficient” 20 point drubbing of Kansas. Hopefully the humans know it was a very depleted Jayhawks team.
Imagine where we’d be if Richmond didn’t get banged up. We likely win Creighton and don’t drop the next 2. I know he played against CU but he was not himself. Missed a ton of shots he normally make. Just couldn’t finish. Likely ranked and top 6-7 seed right now. Frustrating. Not just 13-7, but 13-7 where they played every team in the league twice. Interested if the committee accounts for that
